Australian Open: Tennis stars begin arriving in Adelaide Tennis stars and coaching staff have started arriving in Adelaide to participate in the first Grand Slam Australian Open of the year.

All the big stars, including Rafael Nadal and Djokovic, will be in isolation for 14 days. The first Grand Slam of the year has been delayed by three weeks due to the Coronavirus.

With all SOPs of the Australian Open now starting from February 8, for which preparations are in the final stages.

Other tennis stars, including Novak Djokovic of Serbia, Rafael Nadal of Spain, Serena Williams of the United States and Naomi Osaka of Japan, will be in isolation for two weeks after arriving in Adelaide.

About 1,200 players and coaching staff will arrive in Australia for the event. Players and staff must be quarantined for two weeks before taking part in a warm-up at Melbourne Park.

It will all come to a head on Saturday 1 February when the 2020 Australian Open Women’s champion is crowned, while the Men’s Final will take place the following day, on Sunday 2 February.

The Women’s Semifinals will be held during the day on Thursday 30 January and the first Men’s Semifinal will take place that night, followed by the second semi on Friday 31 January. The Quarterfinals will be held on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 January.
