India At Commonwealth Games 2022 Final Medal Tally and Standing: India Bags 61 Medals, Finishes Fourth on Medal Table

India’s Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Medal Tally and Full Medal  Standings: The Indian men’s hockey team won the silver medal after losing the final to Australia by a 7-0 scoreline. The gold rush continued as Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the gold medal in men’s doubles badminton. Sharath Kamal won the gold medal in men’s singles table tennis with a win over England’s Liam Pitchford. Sathiyan Gnanasekaran added a third medal of the day to India’s tally on Day 11 with a bronze in men’s singles table tennis. This was after Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu had won gold medals in men’s and women’s singles badminton, respectively. India thus finish with a total of 61 medals, out of which 22 are gold, which have mostly come in wrestling, boxing, table tennis, lawn bowls and weightlifting.  Commonwealth Games 2022 Medal Tally Updated

From 1934 to 2018, hundreds of Indian athletes have competed at the Commonwealth Games. Jaspal Rana, a former shooter, is one of the most successful Indian athletes at Games. He won total of 15 medals while another shooter Gagan Narang claimed 10 titles with 4 golds. Star shooter Abhinav Bindra has also 9 CWG titles. PV Sindhu, Mirabai Chanu, Nikhat Zareen, the Indian Hockey team, Indian Women’s Cricket Team, Hima Das and a few other players could fetch gold medals for India in their respective sporting categories. With Neeraj Chopra out due to injury, Indian Javelin Throw team would be weaker at CWG 2022. Currently sitting fourth in the all-time medal tally of Commonwealth Games, India would aim to end this campaign on a high note just like 2018 Gold Coast Games.
