IPL 2019 Player Auction: Varun Chakraborty's unauthorized Varun Chakraborty's bid for the auction of the IPL has raised eyebrows, but Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta called the Tamil Nadu spinner a "long-term investment" and "back-up spinner" for captain Ravichandran Ashwin. .
Confirming that Ashwin will continue to lead KXIP this season, Zinta has argued for choosing Varun, who performed well for this kind of humble sum in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).
"Varun is an undivided seam bowler as well as a back-up spinner who will add value to the team. Kings XI Punjab always wanted to give untold talent and Varun is a long-term investment for us.
Bollywood actor said, "I think with the guidance of coach Mike Hesson, he (Varun) will be able to refine his abilities and contribute to the team's success."
He was happy that Kings XI was able to take those players who had thought that the missing version might have a missing link.
"We chose an idea through the strategy for the 2019 Indian Premier League auction. We wanted to select players who could fill the gap and make a remarkable team line-up.
"I believe we have a balanced side with many good choices in our kitty in terms of requirements during the season."
Adolescents like Prabha Simran Singh have already signed a Rs 1.5 crore deal before playing a Ranji Trophy match, but Zinta feels that if there is a genius, then it should be supported.
"In Kings XI Punjab, we have always believed in providing an opportunity to domestic talent and Prabha Simran is the new star on the horizon. The management team at KXIP does background research before bidding for any player, "he argued.
He also talked about the local connection, which takes a long way in bidding for the demonstration.
He said, "I personally feel that he is a local boy from Punjab and has the talent to watch out in the future."
There is a possibility that if the dates collide with the general elections, the IPL may be shifted to South Africa, but their team is ready for any situation.
He said, & quot; We have faced such a scenario last year (in 2009 and 2014 in UAE) and ready enough for the upcoming season.
"The balance of the team and the constitution is such that they can play with the same enthusiasm in India or any other country and can give excellent results," he signed.
