Antigua weather report for WI vs BAN 1st Test Day 1

Weather at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium: The Windies face Bangladesh at home after losing an away ODI series against Pakistan.

Following a 0-3 ODI series loss to Pakistan in Multan, the West Indies will host Bangladesh in a multi-format series that will include a couple of Tests, three T20Is, and as many One-Dayers.

The Tests would kick off the home series, with the opening match scheduled for June 16 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua (tomorrow).

Bangladesh has also landed in the Caribbean after losing a Test series to Sri Lanka last month, with the management opting to give over the captaincy to Shakib Al Hasan, the team’s most experienced player.

In terms of the venue, the Windies have played 11 Tests at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. At this stadium in Antigua, they have won three, lost two, and drew six games.

Bangladesh, on the other side, has lost the one Test match they have played here in 2018.

Sir Vivian Richards Stadium weather

Despite some rain in the afternoon today, the good news for cricket fans is that weather is unlikely to be a factor on Day 1 (Thursday) of the first Test, which starts tomorrow.

However, according to Accuweather, the weather will likely remain gloomy (with a 100 per cent cloud cover) throughout the day Thursday, with temperatures hovering around 30 degrees Celsius.

With a prediction of roughly 65 per cent indoor humidity for practically the whole day, the players are sure to feel the heat of the ‘very humid’ circumstances throughout the playing hours.
