Bangladesh have taken 1-0 lead in the three-ODI series, beating West Indies comfortably by six wickets at Mirpur.

Shakib Al Hasan’s 4 wickets for 8 runs in 7.2 overs restricted West Indies to 122 runs in 32.2 overs. This is the best bowling figures by a Bangladeshi against West Indies.

Hasan Mahmud, on debut, bagged 3 for 38. Mustafizur Rahman made early inroads with two wickets.

In reply, the Tigers reached the target with 16.1 overs to go. Skipper Tamim Iqbal scored 44 runs off 69 balls on a turning pitch. Akeal Hosein scalped 3 for 26 in his debut match.

Bangladesh have obtained 10 points in the Cricket World Cup Super League 2020-23, a qualification pathway to the 2023 World Cup in India.
