Dhaka sign Al-Amin Jr. for Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020

Al-Amin Jr. is a well-known face in Bangladesh domestic cricket. But initially he did not get a team in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 Cup tournament. However, the right-handed batsman has signed for Beximco Dhaka in replace of pacer Mehedi Hasan Rana on Wednesday (December 9).

Al-Amin has scored over 2,500 runs in 49 first-class matches. The 27-year old cricketer has scored 2,806 runs in 90 List-A matches and 336 runs in 36 T20 matches. He also bowls well as a part-timer sometimes. He has 78 wickets totally.

Although Al-Amin did not get a team at the beginning of the tournament, Dhaka went for Al-Amin at the last part of the tournament. Al-Amin himself confirmed the news of joining the team to BDCricTime.

“I have joined Dhaka. I don’t really know if I was taken in replace of any other cricketer. But today I joined and started practicing with the team.

“In Tuesday morning I had a Covid test. After the test, I was in isolation in the academy building. Then at night the result came negative. So I did not go to the hotel at night. Today I joined the practice directly from the academy building,” Al-Amin said.

Dhaka pacer Rana, who played in this tournament, is currently in isolation. He has been suffering from cold and fever for the last four-five days. Although the first test did not come negative. The second Covid test will be a few more days later. According to team sources in Dhaka, Al-Amin has been included in the team instead of Rana.
