Highest chase in IPL history: The Kolkata Knight Riders are attempting to set a record for the most successful run chase in IPL history.
Rajasthan Royals put on a strong 217/5 in 20 overs after being put in to bat first by Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer during the 30th match of the ongoing 15th season of the Indian Premier League at the Brabourne Stadium.
With 218 runs needed to win, Kolkata would have to record the third-highest run chase in IPL history. In terms of personal records, a successful 218-run pursuit will be their highest-ever.
After falling short of Rajasthan opener Jos Buttlerβs third IPL century, the Knight Ridersβ strategy of elevating spinner Sunil Narine in the batting order backfired, as the left-hand batsman retired to the pavilion without facing a delivery.
