Lyon added to the Australian T20I squad

Australian right-arm off-spinner Nathan Lyon added to the Australian T20I squad for the remainder of the T20I series against India at SCG.

Australia have started the three-match T20I series against India in a losing cause as the visitors cruised to a comprehensive win by 11 runs at Manuka Oval, Canberra.  The remaining two games of the three-match T20I series will be played in Sydney.

Ahead of the Sydney T20Is, the hosts have made some changes in their setup. The right-arm off-spinner Nathan Lyon has been added to the T20I squad for the remaining two games at SCG. The off-spinner has been added as a potential cover for the left-arm off-spinner Ashton Agar, who is sustaining an injury. Due to the injury, the left-arm off-spinner missed the first T20I too.

With the addition of Nathan Lyon, the debutant in the ODI series Cameron Green has been released from the limited-overs squad. The young all-rounder will join with Australia A setup, who will be involved in a three-day practice game between India A and Australia A from December 6th.

The injury column continues for the hosts as their limited-overs skipper Aaron Finch is waiting for the scan results. The skipper sustained an injury to his hip/buttock region during the first T20I at Manuka Oval. If the skipper is unavailable for the remaining T20Is, it will be interesting to see who will be leading the side.

Earlier in the ODI series, the left-handed opening batsman David Warner sustained a groin injury and is ruled out for the ongoing T20I series. While the all-rounder Pat Cummins has been rested for the ongoing T20I series considering his workload management.
