Pradeep returns, Perera to captain SL in England

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has named 24 men for six white-ball matches against England.

Kusal Perera, who debuted as captain in the Bangladesh series and made a hundred in the last match, will continue to lead Sri Lanka. Apart from Ashen Bandara, all the players from Bangladesh ODI tour have made it to squad for England tour.

Pacer Nuwan Pradeep returns to the squad. He averages 36 with the ball in 11 ODIs (10 innings) on English soil.

The likes of Angelo Mathews, Dimuth Karunaratne and Dinesh Chandimal have been kept out of contentions as Sri Lanka go through a transition.

The pay dispute between the players and SLC has been resolved for now and all players have agreed to tour England without contracts.

Sri Lanka will kick off the series with three T20Is on June 23, 24 and 26 after playing a one-day warm-up (vs Kent on June 18) and a T20 warm-up (vs Sussex June 20). The three World Cup Super League ODIs will be held on June 29, July 1 and 4. They will leave for England on June 9.

Sri Lanka are currently placed last (13th) in the Super League with 8 points from six matches. Their only win came in the third ODI against Bangladesh.
